Pet of the Week - Rocco

ROCCO

Age: 3 years

Color: Tan

Breed: Mixed Breed

Gender: Male

Adoption Fee: $16 (all March)

Gimme a soccer ball, then sit back, relax and enjoy the show! Hi there, I'm Rocco and I'm kinda obsessed with those round orbs you call a ball. They never sit still and I could chase them all day! And the shelter staff is kinda obsessed with my ears! I'm a muscular, athletic guy who's really just a big, mushy, lap-loving teddy bear. Not to brag or anything, but I'm also pretty smart. I know the commands for Sit, Give Paw, Stay & Down. I'm really excited to meet you and show off my skills!

Pet of the Week Sidney

Age: 1 year

Color: Brown/Red

Breed: Catahoula Leopard Dog/Pit Bull Mix

Gender: Male

Adoption Fee: $16 (all March)

Roses are red and violets are blue, I can't wait to be adopted and spend my life with you! Hello there, I'm Sidney, a 1-year-old with the most beautiful (and unique) markings down my back. The shelter staff think I might be mixed with Catahoula Leopard Dog, but I don't care about all that. I care about (in no particular order) having my belly rubbed, squeaky toys, food, and going for walks. I like to play with other fun-loving dogs, and I love kids, especially ones that don't mind kisses ???? They tell me I'm a special boy because I have 3 legs, but honestly, I don't even realize I'm special. I get around just like any other dog! Please make the drive to the shelter and talk to the staff about meeting me. It'll be the best thing you ever do, promise!

**ALL DOGS over 1 years and older for the month of March are just $16...which includes Sidney!!!

Pet of the Week - Spot

SPOT

Age: 6 years

Color: Black & White

Breed: Mixed Breed

Gender: Male

Adoption Fee: $16 (all March)

Do you feel that in your chest? That’s Spot and he’s tugging on your heart??

One of our volunteers took Spot home for a week and during that time, here’s what she wants you to know:

??Spot is completely house-trained. He knows to potty outside and could be trusted to free-roam our house when we were not home. Even though he has spent months in the shelter, he didn't have any accidents in our home! He is also crate-trained and didn't mind sleeping in his crate (all curled up on lots of blankets) overnight.

??Spot is very smart and attentive. He knows "sit" and is working on "down". He knows "look at me" and always keeps one eye on you when out playing in the yard. Despite being deaf, he was picking up hand signals quickly and was easy to recall when we wanted him to come back inside.

??He loves napping on the couch. A perk of being deaf is that he could happily nap the day away despite whatever we happened to be doing.

??He was great for the groomer. We took Spot for a spa day to help him to look and feel his best, and the groomer said he was excellent!

??Spot is super dog-friendly!

??Even though he's 6 years old, Spot enjoys playing fetch. He's super gentle with stuffed toys, and didn't tear them up. He would even take his toys and pile them in his crate for safe keeping (super cute). We found that Spot can quickly go through a Himalayan cheese chew, but the elk antlers worked really well for him.

??If you're looking for a bird-watching partner, Spot is all in. When he wasn't napping on the couch, Spot would sit at the window and watch the birds at our bird feeder

Since Spot is deaf, he will need to find a forever home without any children. His ideal home would also not have any cats since he likes to chase them. Spot does pull on the leash when he first goes out for a walk. However, he does settle down and will walk calmly. We think that once he has more consistency in his forever home, he will get much better at walking on a leash.

Spot is the sweetest, silliest boy I've met. It's hard not to fall in love with him. He's had a rough start to life and deserves the best home. If you're interested in adopting Spot, please come for a visit – and if you can't adopt at this time, please share to help Spot find his forever home!
