Pet of the Week Archives for 2021-03

Pet of the Week - Aries

????And they called it puppy love??

Aries is a ridiculously handsome 11 month old Dogo Argentino Puppy. He’s been with CCAS for about a month after his owners could no longer keep him. A shelter is no place for a growing puppy and Aries needs to find his forever home as soon as possible so that he can officially start his journey.

Aries’ breed is not one for first time dog owners. He is looking for an experienced adopter who has owned large breeds with a predisposition to protecting their family. Dogo Argentino’s are known to be protective and incredibly loyal. Aries is also hearing impaired and will need an owner who is willing to invest in his training to set him up for success.

We believe Aries could thrive with the company of a calm large breed female dog. However, he would also do well as an only pet where he can get the one on one attention he needs. He is also looking for a home with no children under 12.

If you are Interested in learning more about Aries, please call the shelter at (410)441-2040.

Pet of the Week - MacGuyver

Dog of the Week – MACGUYVER

Age: 9 years

Color: Brown & White

Breed: Mixed Breed

Gender: Male

Adoption Fee: $95

Can you help me solve a problem? I'm MacGuyver and I'm usually pretty good at using my skills to get out of sticky situations, but I've got a doozie here. You see I'm here at the shelter when I should be in a home. (1) I'm cute: just look at my soft brindle coat and my sweet eyes. (2) I'm likeable: all the staff and volunteers love me! (3) I'm smart: I know tricks like "paw", "sit", "down". Heck, I can even dance on my hind legs for treats! (4) I'm affectionate- I just melt into a puddle when you rub my belly or scratch my shoulders. (5) I have a strong nose: and I follow it wherever it goes! (6) I'm a secret agent, so I work alone: I'd prefer to be the only dog in your home. So, please tell me, how could it be that I am still at the shelter without a family? Wait, I have an idea-you could save the day! Ready to start your biggest life-saving adventure?

Call the shelter to meet me today! That's 410-836-1090 or adopt@harfordshelter.org.

Pet of the Week - Thomas

Thomas is a 6 year old kitty who came in as a stray . Sadly, life as a kitty without a home proved traumatic for Thomas. Thomas was diagnosed with FIV and is blind both eyes. While neither of these factors will effect his quality of life, we know it will take a special person to adopt him. Thomas is available for adoption and his adoption fees have been waived.
