My name is Poncho and I would LOVE to be your couch potato, bed hog, milk bone-loving addition! Picture it now...me and you snuggling on the couch on a cold winter's night binge watching our favorite Netflix show. I mean look at me...what's not to love about this cute face?? And the girls at the shelter love to pinch my cheeks and tell me how adorable I am. You may not have seen me available for adoption before, although I have been here since summer. I had a rough start and was diagnosed with heartworm but the great staff here ay HSHC were on top of it and treated me right away so now I am all better and ready to conquer the world...or a few treats! I feel like a new pup and I love going for long walks, giving kisses and finding my way onto your lap. I have officially finished my heartworm treatment and I am hoping to find my furever home! When I arrived at the shelter, I could barely keep my eyes open due to a condition where my eyelashes curved inward and irritated my eyes. Thankfully, I got the surgery I needed and my eyes can now totally show what's in my heart: pure love! I like to go on long walks and enjoy the outside air, and I do great with other dogs and would be okay with a home with another fur friend or even just new pawrents to spend all my time with. Like a good neighbor, Simba is there! We'd like you to meet this super sensational senior who is a real laid-back dude. I mean, what other cats do you know that would let you put a Santa hat on him for a photo? Simba just sorta goes with the flow. Simba has lived with other cats, kids and even a dog and once again, he took it all in stride. Our mature friend is a bit of a, shall we say, chonk? He tips the scales at around 20 lbs, so fitness is definitely going to be one of his New Year's resolutions. If you'd like to get him back on track to achieve his goals, come on by!
