“WHGM Gold Scavenger Hunt”

Contest Rules

These contest rules are specific to the above contest conducted by Maryland Media One, LLC, d/b/a WHGM-AM/FM (collectively, the “Station”).  Except to the extent specifically set forth below with respect to this specific contest, the Station’s general contest rules apply to this contest as well.  A copy of these specific contest rules and the Station’s general contest rules are available at the Station’s studio at 331 N Union Avenue, Havre de Grace, MD 21078 during regular business hours and on the contest page on the Station’s website at www.whgmgold.com.  To the extent that the general contest rules differ from these rules, these rules will govern and control with respect to this Contest.

How to Enter

1. All Entrants must be 18 years or older to play in this contest.
    

2. No purchase necessary to enter or to win the WHGM Gold Scavenger Hunt, which will be conducted at various locations in Harford and Cecil County. (the “Contest”).
    

3. THIS CONTEST REQUIRES PHYSICAL ACTIVITY.  BY ENTERING, ENTRANTS ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THEY ARE PHYSICALLY AND PSYCHOLOGICALLY ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS CONTEST.
    

4. On November 15, 2020 and every weekday until December 18, 2020 (excluding Thanksgiving)  at on or around 7:20am EST, 11:20am, and 4:20pm,  WHGM Gold staff will announce the specific clue for that day. To enter, entrants will be required to locate the clue, which will be a business or tourist attraction located within Harford or Cecil County, take a selfie at the location and upload the selfie to our website (www.whgmgold.com).  

5. The “clue” will also be posted on the station’s website and social media page.     

6. The entrant that submits the most selfies verified to be the correct clue will win the prize of $1,000.

7. Entries must be submitted via the station's website (www.whgmgold.com) or via the station's texting platform at 410-939-9446.
    

8. Entrant must be a legal Maryland or Delaware resident and must present a valid government ID (each a “Participant” or “Entrant,” collectively the “Participants” or “Entrants”)

   1. Entrants acknowledge that messages are distributed via one on-air announcement at the above indicated times, and one website and social media post between 7:20am EST and 4:20pm EST 

   2. Participation in this Contest is voluntary and is subject to each entrant.  

How to Win

1. Starting at 7:20am EST on Monday, November 15, 2020, Station will broadcast an announcement and a clue that will lead them to a “location” in Harford or Cecil County (“Location Clue”) where Participants will find the “clue” for that day, which can be a product display, food item, stationary monument or visual display. There will only be one (1) location each day in which is this contest will be played, with a total of 22 during the contest. A bonus location may be announced in the event that a contest day is suspended due to weather or other events

2.  No trespassing and/or destruction of private or public property are necessary to participate and win in the Contest.  No risk-taking is required to locate the answers to clues.  Station is not responsible in any way for the acts of participants.  Participants must comply with all federal, state and local laws and regulations.  ANY PARTICIPANT WHO STATION DETERMINES HAS OR MAY HAVE BROKEN ANY FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL LAW AS PART OF PARTICIPATING IN THIS CONTEST WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY DISQUALIFIED.  Participants must not harm or endanger themselves or other persons or property.  Any participant that the Station determines may have created a public hazard, caused interference with or destruction of property and/or utilized public safety resources will be disqualified in the Station’s sole discretion.  Any person using violence, intimidation or other inappropriate action in an attempt to win the Contest (as determined by Station personnel in their sole discretion) will be immediately barred from further participation in the Contest.
    

3. In no event will any “deal-making” in connection with a contest between participants or third parties be permitted.  Station reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any participant who has cheated, or any other suspected fraudulent activity.  The Station reserves the right to disqualify any participant for any conduct that in any way appears to inhibit the enjoyment of other participants.
    

4. The Station is not responsible in the event a Participant did not hear the announcement or clue word.
    

5. The Station is not responsible in the event a Participant cannot locate the clue.
    

6. THE STATION HAS NO CONTROL OVER NON-PARTICIPANTS IN THIS CONTEST. All participants in this Contest understand and agree that Station has no obligation, liability or responsibility whatsoever if Participants receive help from other Participants or Non-Participants. 
    

7. Station is not responsible for entries that are not timley received or entries that are not verified to be recieved.
     

8. WHGM Gold Scavenger Hunt will conclude at approximately 4:20pm (ET) on December 18, 2020.  At that time, no further Location Clues will be given. All entries must be received and posted to the Station’s website no later than 11:59pm (EST) on December 18, 2020 to be considered.
    

Prizes

1. Up to one (1) verified Prize Winner in this Contest will receive $1,000 as a check from Maryland Media One, LLC the following week. Up to a total of $1,000 US Dollars will be awarded in this contest via check that will be issued and mailed to the Prize Winner.     

   1. Prizes will be released to winner only.  Winner may be required to present a valid United States state or federal photo ID and valid social security number in order to pick up any prize.  Winner may be required, in Station’s sole discretion, to sign one or more liability release agreements relieving the Station, its parents, subsidiaries, officers, directors, members, managers, employees, agents, contest sponsors and others from any and all liability with respect to the contestant’s participation in the contest and the receipt and/or use of the prize.  Any person who refuses to sign the Release and/or provide a social security number or complete or provide any other documents required by the Station by the deadline required by Station will forfeit any and all prizes.

   2. Station reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value for all contests and giveaways.  Non-cash prizes are not redeemable for cash.  No transfer or assignment of prizes is allowed, except as may be determined by Station in its sole and absolute discretion on a case by case basis.

19. An Entrant in this contest may only be one individual.  No teams or partners permitted.
