Union Hospital of Cecil County is looking for an experienced HIT professional.

 

Job Summary:

Responsible for installing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting the day-to-day activities of the hospital’s software application, hardware (including medical devices), and network infrastructure (Healthcare Information Technology).

 

Salary: $29k-$64k

 

Essential Job Responsibilities: Takes initiative to enhance the customer experience by providing timely application, hardware, biomedical (as needed) and network support and education.

 

Makes independent, real-time decisions designed to assist the end user overcome application, hardware, or network obstacles interfering with clinical or business processes

 

Creates FAQs and other educational material for UHCC staff Identifies and implements opportunities for process improvement Provides technical assistance and training to system users.

 

Responds to users requests for assistance by phone, ticket and in person.

 

Staffs the help desk when required Installs and modifies personal computer and network hardware and software configuration.

 

Diagnoses hardware, software, and operator problems and takes actions and/or recommends procedural changes. Installs and configures peripheral equipment such as monitors, keyboards, printers and disk drives.

 

Loads and configures operation systems and applications such as clinical information system, revenue cycle systems, mobile device management, voice recognition, word processing database, and spreadsheet programs.

 

Requires comprehensive knowledge of UHCC’s stand-alone and networked personal computers and related peripheral equipment, and of commonly used stand-alone and networked applications. Performs other duties as assigned by management.

 

Requirements Education: Associates Degree in Computer Technology or equivalent experience plus experience in hospital information systems.

 

Licenses / Certifications: A+, N+, CCNA beneficial. Experience: Minimum of 1 - 2 years experience supporting small to medium scale networks with an emphasis on healthcare information technology systems preferred. Network and analysis experience in an automated health care environment desirable.
