County Executive Glassman Orders Harford County Flag Lowered May 4 - 6 for Longtime First Responder Andy Snakovsky

County Executive Barry Glassman has ordered the Harford County flag lowered in honor of longtime first responder and county employee Andy Snakovsky, whose many duties included lowering the flags at county office buildings. The Harford County flag will fly at half-staff from sunrise Monday, May 4 to sunset on Wednesday, May 6, 2020.

Andy Snakovsky began his nearly 50-year career as a first responder in the U.S. Air Force. He later served in the Annapolis and Baltimore City police departments before becoming a special police officer and security liaison for Harford County government. He passed away on April 29, 2020 from an illness unrelated to COVID-19.

“Andy dedicated his life to public service, most recently as an important member of the security team for county buildings,” County Executive Glassman said. “Our hearts go out to his family. He will be greatly missed.”
