Please join the Scottish Games Association of Delaware for a day of athletic, pipe and dance competitions, pipe bands, music, food, and arts, all celebrating Scottish and Celtic culture. You won't want to miss the parade of the clans and pipe bands or the finale featuring the massing of the bands. The event is held rain or shine. Birds of a feather flock together! Become a citizen scientist by taking part in the global Great Backyard Bird Count at the Environmental Center. Delve into bird flight patterns, listen to their calls and songs, and learn about key color markings to identify bird species. Using binoculars, we will birdwatch from the upper deck of the Havre de Grace Maritime Museum and the data we collect will be submitted to the global Great Backyard Bird Count. We will have some fun by making paper airplanes to see who flies the farthest. This event will occur rain or shine as we have indoor viewing opportunities.Pre-registration is recommended - classes fill up quickly. An exhibit of handmade thought-provoking quilts by Carol Burnside, "Curious Priest and Quilter for Social Justice," will be on display at St. John's Episcopal Church, Havre de Grace, through most of February. The exhibit is self-guided with a brochure. Burnside will conduct three lectures about the quilts on Saturday afternoons (Feb 3, 10, & 17). For more information, visit the website.
